MERCHANDISE: Hand-drawn Reggae Portraits
About the art on this page:
PEN & INK DRAWINGS - LINE DRAWINGS.
All original portraits drawn by
hand.
After many years of
painting with acrylic, oil and watercolor ... then years of drawing with
charcoal and pastels, Paula Bragg was exposed to the art form called, "Pen
and Ink". She knew this complex medium would require a particular kind of
subject. In 1997, while passing through the channels on TV, she caught a
quick glimpse of Reggae Artist, Maxi
Priest. She knew instantly that Maxi's unique look and flowing
dreadlocks would be the most extraordinary subject for this sophisticated
art style. She found the perfect picture of him. Then after many tedious
hours, her first ink portrait was complete, and she was so inspired by this
simple but yet intricate form of art, that she continued to create many
more portraits. Below are just a few of family, friends and favorites.
